I have a wonderful wife ![Smile :) :)](data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7)
It took quite a while for this to come in but a couple of months ago the present my wife wanted to buy me finally came in. In spite of sickness, weather and work I have managed to do a bit of shooting with it but wanted to post up a proper story once I had worked up some loads. It is a LH Savage 10 Predator Hunter Max 1 in 260 Rem and it is very accurate. The gun is very comfortable to shoot and the varmint version of the Accutrigger has spoiled me now
So far I have managed to come up with a very good load of 41 gr of H 4350 with the 140 gr Ballistic Tip that the worst load was around a 1 inch 5 shot group on a very windy day, in calm weather it is much less. I'm also working with a bunch of other 140 gr bullets right now but these are consistantly doing well. Shot the 140 gr Deep Curl for the first time and there is no doubt they will be accurate, going to try them with H 4350 soon. I would have done a bullet test with them but didn't have enough jugs to do it today. I am thankful to God for a much better wife than I deserve.
These pics were taken a while ago, most of our snow has melted since it has been so mild here.
Typical 140 gr Bt with H 4350 group.
140 gr Deep Curl with H 4831 sc.
I was hoping that both of these would shoot well and am very happy to see that they do although I would like more speed with the Deep Curl load. Either one should perform very well on game at typical 260 Rem speeds. Looking forward to trying the 129 gr ABLR and the 123 gr CC match bullets when they arrive.
