A couple of friends met me at the range today, but not until after I'd expended 100 rds of .22, 25 rounds of .38 ammo, and 50 rounds from the .45 ACP.

The two shooters did well and we all had a mighty fine time in the sunny afternoon. I had the .22 Ruger pistol along, a very good target pistol BTW. Mine has taught an awful lot of people how to shoot, and has been used to reinforce the fundamentals of marksmanship for many others.

The ancient .357 is a Smith & Wesson Model 19 with a 2.5" barrel. I remember thinking that was about the sexiest handgun ever... Not sure about that anymore, but I do like the old gal still, beat up as she is. We did some work together today, as I like staying up on my revolver skills.

And this... Well this is my 5-shot, 7-yard target with the .45 Kimber and 230 grain FMJ "ball" ammo from Federal American Eagle. It shoots pretty good, even from standing. Yes, it was only 7 yards, but dang... I like that gun, and that ammo.

It was a mighty fine afternoon at the range!

Well, that is certainly stacking five shots centre of mass. Sounds like an excellent day, Guy.

Nice!
Your Kimber is singing. Awesome shooting Guy!

Guy, I have a M19 6" new in the box I picked up for some NRA matches at Camp Perry but never have had a chance to see what she will do after I broke my ankle and I'm not one to only go half speed when it comes to getting ready for a match so I has been hiding in the safe.

Doc, I QUIT at five shots slow fire. I KNEW there was no way I was putting another one in that same hole...

Nevertheless, very impressive. I was never quite that good. I'm humbled before the deed.

.45's are fun that way.

What looks like a tight group with .22's, is a single hole with .45 bullets. No better accuracy, just bigger holes!

Well, there's a reason I took a photo of it... 'Cause that is NOT normal for me at 7 yards...

I usually do okay, but NOT like that!

Guy

We can enjoy every anomaly like that for many years to come. I'd definitely be framing that plate and hanging it on a wall where it would be quite visible.
