Another hunter loss

It is with a VERY SAD HEART, I post this:

My cousin and long time hunting partner of 25 years passed away of Good Friday.
He had undergone a major, but successful heart surgery but other complications took their toll. He was 82 years YOUNG. His name is Earl Whitney and he resided in Lebanon, OR. A veteran, wounded of the Korean war, he was a tough as nails and at his age pulled his weight every season. Generous to a fault, he never met a stranger but greeted a new friend, dog, horse or what ever came along. I miss him already.

Some of you may recall my posts and pictures not long ago about the two great rifles he gave me. These rifles are now at least to me, PRICELESS and will reserve their respective space in my gun safes, used in his memory as he directed. He gave them to me to use and I will honor that. The two rifles are a custom 300 H&H and a Rem. 700 in 7 mm Express (the .280 in another post I just asked for new loads for).

We will all travel many roads as we go through our lives until our journey too is over. LIVE THAT LIFE to it's fullest my friends, as it is all too short.

Sorry for your loss.
He sounds like a heck of a guy and I think the world, and you, are better for him being in it, even if for too short a time.

Sounds like another great man has went to the Happy Hunting grounds where the game is plentiful and the wind is always in your face.

My condolences.

Condolences at your loss. It is tough to say good-bye to those we love.

Sorry for your loss. I am sure the sun is shining in his face, and the elk are running everywhere!

Dave, I am sorry for your loss. I lost my dad in 04, we had hunted together for 50 years. Things will get better, take care of yourself.
