After not being able to hunt with my eldest son for a few years, we got the chance this christmas to hunt whitetails at the family ranch in Menard Texas. Andrew really wanted to hunt on his own this year, and he had a great time. The first 2 days he spent hunting on the ground, mainly still, and saw several bucks, including one just 15 yards away. The last day, both he and my second son saw deer about 1 mile from each other, and shot within 15 minutes. I was not able to get the other pictures, and i know that a 7mm AccuBond at 160 gr is a lot of bullet for a deer, but Andrew shot well at around 150 yards. My other son, Eric, got his around 80 yards with .264 win mag loaded with a 140 gr Partition. Lee got his deer earlier, choosing to cull a small buck. I did not tag a deer this year, but i consider it a great success when all 3 sons get their deer. As the Bible says, "Blessed is the man with many arrows in his quiver." Here are a couple of pictures, the second is of Lee and Andrew... Brothers that truely get along great!

Congrats! great lookin deer. (and I dont think a 160 AB is too much for deer.) The deer dont seem to have cared! Great job guys

Congratulations to you and your sons! Great story and pictures for sure.
The 7mm 160 gr AB is a great bullet for deer, and a lot more.

You are indeed a blessed man to have had the opportunity to hunt with all three sons this year. Congratulations to your boys for success in their pursuit of game, and congratulations to you for sharing such a great account.
