Sally basin or Shirley Basin Wyoming?

What guns? Give scoop man!

Sorry Pop.
Shirley Basin. I have spent untold hours trying to post these pictures and when I finally got expertice from work I was so frazzled I screwed up. Thanks for the heads up! One was taken with a 30-06 165 gr Hornady Interbond. The other with a Rem 7mm Ultra Mag with 140 gr. Accubonds. This is the same antelope being viewed twice. My pictures haven't been e-mailed back but my antelope is a twin of the one Jonathan got. My friends are from North Carolina and Dean has never been west before and didn't put in for antelope. Jonathan has been to Colorado and got a nice 6 pt. bull elk and to Idaho. He got the antelope pictured. Man we saw elk out the wazoo at some walk-in land just up from the "Shirley" basin. Dean walked up within 20 ft. of a 6 pt. bull with one antler at Cow Creek. He only had a deer tag with him. It was a great trip we saw some trophy quality antelope but could never finish the deal. We finally found the deer at Esterbrook at the north end of the Medacine Bow National Forest.I didn't get pictures of the cow elk. The final shot was a head shot with the 7mm RUM. Too graphic!!
As expected " When we left we knew exactly where we should have been".
If anybody needs or wants info on locations, hunting and a ranch where you can hunt antelope with no charge except the landowner portion of the tag send a PM. There are thousands of antelope as far as the eye can see in every direction there. You will get one but it won't be as easy as it looks and the big ones are much harder to approach. Remember the 40 mph. winds that blow almost daily.
Good Hunting and Thanks again Pop.

Greg, Very nice. There is just something about spot and stalk on antelope. And thanks for the pics.

Man Greg, I know you all had some fun out there. I would really like to go to Wyoming and hunt antelope and maybe I will get to some day. Really nice antelope and good shooting. Congrats, really nice.

It's easier and cheaper than you think. About $300 for an antelope buck tag and $49 for an additional antelope doe tag. If you buy a point the draw for unit 47 is pretty easy. It's just a matter of gas, something to sleep in and food beyond that. If you want a cow elk in unit 7 the tag is about $300 for the reduced price tag.
It was like a dream come true for this California hunter to be able to see thousands of antelope spread out as far as the eye can see. The rancher where we stayed let us camp on his place. No facilities but I stayed self contained in my trailer for 10 days and my freinds flew in and rented a motor home. The elk were about 50 miles away. Everything in Wyoming was 50 miles away. Wide open spaces that are breathtakingly beautiful!
Good Hunting
