I am a staunch 2nd Amendment supporter, as I assume everyone on this forum is. I constantly hear/see the fact that if someone has a gun in the home, your more likely to use it on a member of your own family over an intruded. I have to believe that this is an old misrepresented statistic that has been propagated by the anti gun people, but can anyone substantiate or refute this notion and provide evidence?

I can't say for sure, but I think my wife has wanted to kill me a few times. Usually it is a remote control, or whatever the nearest projectile is within her grasp though. I don't "think" she'd shoot me............

To my knowledge there has never been a refereed scientific study supporting this contention. It is anti-gun mythology.

I have never actually read or heard of anyone killing a relative in their own home. I believe this is a Progressive myth, kind of like Pedastry does not create child molesters.

...this often quoted "fact" comes from an extremely flawed study that looked @ "43 selected deaths in 2 selected cities, of 43 deaths studied, 37 were suicides, others involved drug deal w/i a family...
