I have a buddy that might be interested in selling his .35 Whelen AI. It is built on a commercial FN Mauser action, and has a Weaver K4 scope with Weaver rings and bases, reloading dies will go along with the rifle as possibly some components. It isn't anything fancy but would make someone a good solid North American thumper.

If anyone is interested I can put you in touch.

That certainly is a real nice thumper, a 250 gr spitzer at 2600 fps + anyone :)

I have no doubt that it will be of interest to someone. It would be a great thumper. Now, don't you feel good, enabling some poor, unsuspecting soul.

PM sent

Probably just needs a good recoil pad and it will be good to go.

PM replied and info sent to my buddy. I haven't seen the rifle personally but I guess it has a checkered steel butt plate and possibly grip cap if I'm understanding my buddies emails correctly.

A Pachmayr Decelerator recoil pad and a Leupold VX-3 2.5-8x36mm scope and she would be good to go.

Truck driver, I sure hope you get it. That would be just what you have been looking for. You would then be part of the club

Blessings,
Dan

Thanks Dan
If I get it I'll let everyone know.

That's a very nice rifle and I dig it being built on the Mauser action. That is pretty cool. The only thing cool with be a Model of 1917, but either way, very cool. I think that stock might have more drop then I could use, but that looks like a SWEET rifle!

Well I haven't received a reply on this so I guess the rifle wasn't for sale after all. I have found several new in the box Remingtons and a slight used Ruger that might fit the bill. That might be the best way to go.

Sorry, somtimes being the middle man is just that. He said he contacted you by email, hopefully things all work out.

Thanks Chad for being the middle man. With out you I would have missed a chance at a nice rifle. :)

That 35AI would have been the ticket but a straight 35 Whelen is no slouch 8)
It would look after anything on this continent
Look forward to photos & range report when you get it!!

Blessings,
Dan

Wondering if there is an update on the rifle yet? ;) ;) I know there is some talking going on.
