I just loaded up some 90 BT in my .243 with RL 17 and some 110 accu bonds in my 25-06 want to see if this powder does what they claim. Anyone else try this with success yet? Too wet to get out to the range, hoping to in a few days and see what this powder will do for accuracy and speed compaired to my stand by loads of H-4831 sc in .243 and IMR 4350 in 25-06. I shall see what the cronoghraph tells me.

You might want to try IMR4831 for your 25-06 if you shoot 100gr bullets. I used 56gr of IMR4831 with a 100gr BT or PAR or rem bullet and got the most speed over my Chrono as well as them all wanting to go into the same hole at 100yards. The load with BT bullets worked very well on a pronghorn hunt. Also shot a few ground squirrels with it.

Haven't tried Re 17. I am using Reloader 22 at the moment, and like the way that it performs in the 25 06 and 270 weatherby mag. As stated by Divernhunter, try IMR 4831. I had excellent results with the 25 06 with it with all bullet weights in both mine and a buddies.

I will be trying retumbo in my 25-06 Rem with 110 Ab's soon. I will post results.

I have a tang-safety Ruger 25-06 that I picked up for next to nothing. The owner said it would not shoot any factroy ammo. I took a chance on it since it was like new condition, and I have a few tricks for the M77's that seem a bit fussy.

After I put my "tune" on the rifle, I measured the distance to the lands using the Stoney Point tool and Nosler 115gr Ballistic Tips. Wow! That's a surprise. This thing has a VERY short throat. Even 100grn Remington factory ammo was well into the lands! No wonder the guy had trouble with it shooting well. I don't think this rifle should have made it off the production floor.

Any how, getting to my point of loads for the 25-06, I found a real nice surprise when I tried IMR7828ssc with the 115gr NBT and NPT, and the 120grn NPT. Velocities were hovering around 3100fps with 115's and 3030 with the 120's. All groups were smaller than I am capable of shooting consistently with the Ballistic Tips being freakishly tiny. I have found that there is a big difference between 7828ssc and the standard cut in most cartridges I have tried. This was not so with the H4831/SC versions. I suspect it has something to do with the load density of the slower 7828 compared to 4831.

I loaded 4831 in the 25-06 for years without issues, but this was certainly stepping up to the next level or two, at least with this rifle. I have heard that Retumbo works similar magic in the quarter bore Rem.

My standard 25-06 load is 47.5 grains IMR 4350 with 110 AB's very accurate to 600 yards, I want to see if 17 will add 80-100 fps with same charge and still keep my accuracy. Thanks I will report back next week as to results.

Try some Retumbo if your looking for the highest velocity.

I've played with pretty much all the powders and have found Retumbo to outperform them by at least 100-150fps.

With 100g NBT's I am using 60.5g and getting 3500fps. 2" groups at 400 yards.

With 115g VLD's I am using 58.5g and getting 3275fps, 1-2" groups at 400 yards.

I need to get some 115g NBT's and see how they do with Retumbo.

These are upper end loads and dont show excessive signs of pressure.

I dont see any data for i but would this potentially be a good powder for the 220 swift as there are loads for 15 and 19
