Anyone with a pet load 30-06 and 150gr pill?

I am looking and some extra 150gr NP that I have and thought they might just would great as a coyote pill. I am hoping to get in some winter predator control for our ever dwindling ungulate populations. Anyone have some load info for the 150gr NP and either of these powders - IMR4895, IMR4350 or H4350? I have looked at some and see some velocities up close to 3000fps which should show the predators who is boss I think. Any suggestions?

51.0 gr IMR 4895, 150 gr NBT, 2900 fps. Very accurate load in my Win Mod 70 30-06. Been using it for almost 20 years now with great success.

I used to use 59 grs IMR4350 with Speer 150 boat tail that was really fast and accurate. My go to load for most any 150 gr bullet in a 30-06 is 51.2 grs IMR 4064

I used the Nosler recommended load of 61.5 grns. of RL19 with the NBT and had excellent results in my Remington 700 BDL. (3.300 O.A.L.; WLR)

I have also used IMR4350 with 150s with very good results accuracy wise. Velocity about 2950 or so in my rifle, IIRC.

I would put as much IMR4350 in the case as you can and still seat the bullet. Really. Normally for me that means about 59.2 or 59.3 grains. I would put in more if I could!

I have also tried H4350 with 150s. Accuracy results were not as consistently good as with IMR4350, but still good. I worked up to 59.8 grains and that gave me 2975 fps.

I use 51.5 grains IMR4064 in two different rifles. Both are sub. MOA. 3.335 and 3.300 COL using Nosler 150 grain ballistic tips.

My go to load for the 30-06 150 gr was 59.0 grs IMR4350.
It shot under MOA in 2 different rifles I had.

I use H4350 almost exclusively in my .30-06 with all bullet weights but I've had great luck with IMR4064, IMR4350, and H414 (W760) as well.

My go to load with either one of the 4350's is 58.5 grains with the WLR primer.

With 4064, 52 grains also with a WLR primer.

Since a buddy shot a hole in my chrony a few years back, I've been unable to clock them but they seem to be going 2900-2950 fps or so out of my 24" barrel Win 70.

52 grains of 4064 and similar with 4895. Both are well proven in the 06. If you move up to the 180, 60 or 61 grains of 4831 also work good.

Clocked 2,920 out of my 22" Featherweight Model 70. However, I have to admit I've not taken a single head of game with this bullet. I used the 180 PT for black bear, and the 165 AB for white tails and pigs, all with H4350.

My main load is with the 165 Partition but have shot several hundred of the various 150 grain bullets with that 58.5 grain load. Good luck and good hunting!

I'm "almost certain" your winters are colder than ours here in Utah, ha. Having said that, I highly recommend starting with the H4350. IMR 4350 and 4064 are not too bad either, unless it drops down super cold. I had a 338 Winmag load with R19 that lost over 80 fps from 59 deg to 10 deg. When I pulled the bullets, the R19 was caked solid, ( not frozen, caked, ha) had to dig it out with a screwdriver. OR just benchrest the chosen load/loads when the temp drops and see if your groups open up. If they do, add powder in .5 grain increments until they tighten up again...just be sure to label them as "cold weather loads" not be shot in the summertime ( the IMR powders that is, the H4350 will be stable at any temp!) Good luck to you. Oh yea, I've also had great results with 59gr of either H or IMR 4350; and 52gr 4064 with the 150.

My go to load with the 150gr bullet is 60gr of RL-17. I get great accuracy and around 3081fps in my 22in barrel Win Featherweight M-70 Winchester. This was done using 150gr NBTs.
