Are you a sitter or stander when reloading?

Do you prefer to sit or stand when reloading, if you prefer to sit what furniture do you recommend?

Same here. I have a nice stool when I do sit.

Stand.

I have a height-adjustable table, but I've never changed the height once I moved it up.
To move from scale to press to rack of cartridges, I have to go side to side a bit, and I couldn't do that standing.

When I built myself a new set of benches in 2016 things such as age and other unpredictable events weren’t factored in, at the time standing for extended periods of time didn’t phase me.

Fast forward to 2026, I now have to live with the results of a left navicular fracture on two separate occasions and a fused ankle on the right, standing for extended periods of time is almost unbearable now.

Tried cheating and using a two foot step ladder and a foam cushion I had but after about thirty minutes it seems like I’m sitting on a pin cushion.

my bench is at the right height for standing and also for sitting as i use an adjustable barstool. if i'm single staging then most likely i'll sit, but using the 550 i'll stand

I do both. My bench top is countertop height and I’ve got a nice stool that I use when sitting.

I stand, but honestly I couldn't tell you why. Just seems to be the way my Dad did it and about 40 years ago when I started reloading I just did the same. Never occurred to me you could actually sit and do it.

I mostly stand because the height of my bench. I do have a stool but I tend to have to move a little more than I want to reach easily from the stool. I've done both depending on different set ups.

Both, depends what process I'm doing... case prep mostly sitting. Actual reloading, definitely standing.

I do both . I stand for about everything except using the press . I sit for all press work , and primer seating with my handheld primer seater . I anneal on the basement cement floor . so I'm on my knees while I do this . when sitting I use a barstool that was gifted to me by one of the auto parts stores I bought from , when I was in business .

when I'm doing pistol ammo on my progressive press . I sit . I only stand to dump more brass in the hopper , exchange a primer tube , or add more powder .

I sit. Built my bench about the height of a computer desk so I can use a chair. Use it for rifle and shotgun. When reloading pistol on the Dillon I use a stool I purchased from Harbor Freight but cut off few inches of the leges. Works for me.
