There was some banter about who needed to build a 22 X 47 with Jeff. He sent me a text yesterday while I was at the range doing some shooting to inform me that the dies and reamer have been ordered for this chambering . I guess the only thing you can do now is tell the college student they are on their own, since you need to build a new system for prairie dogs!

Wow, that is a rifle that would be some kinda fun chucking heavy 22 cal bullets!

That's the idea...with an 8 twist and some 75-80 grain bullets! Jeff said it is still doing 3400+ with an 80 grain. There are some high BC's in the 22 cal bullets with that weight.

Believe it or not - at one time, I'm contemplating building a 22-6MM Ackley Improved. I have the itch ever since I read an article by Ross Seyfried a couple of years ago when he build one and wrote about it in Guns and Ammo Magazine. His rifle pushed the 90 grain JLK's at around 3600 fps if I remembered correctly. Man! slinging those javelin of a bullet at those velocity sure would perk my interest.

LOL, Yeah I'm doing renovation right now and I hardly have any room to do any work inside my garage. I have another safe coming too and I'm running out of room.
