Best of luck and every success on the Coues deer hunt, Vince. Stay safe in the midst of the guests invited by the current administration as they occupy the State.
I managed to draw turkey but missed out on deer of any sorts.
If you folks need an extra body in camp to keep an eye on things while you're out on the hunt, let me know. I started getting a bit paranoid leaving our camp setup where we go after Javalina, after a few years of seeing more coyotes leading illegals than Javalina.
No deer tag for me this year. Didn't draw for antelope or elk as well.At least I still hav my cow elk hunt in New Mwxico next January. Not a total loss.

Best of luck to you on your cow elk hunt. This year, due to work and family commitments, I'm focusing on deer close to home. Too bad the state only allows one deer per year. Going to be a real lean year unless I can do a lot of fishing.
I'm planning to call predators while scouting tomorrow. Can't sleep tonight, anxious.
Heading in to bandit country for some scouting. It's 4x4 all the way to where my pockets of deer are. Hiking it out will take all day if you shoot it before 08:00 in the morning. My plan is to 4x4 and hike in the day before. Then make a cold, dry camp with no fire. In the morning, as the sun is rising, fill two tags. One is mine and the other is a buddy's. He gets first choice.
