Just got home about 1 hour ago fellas from newfy moose hunt, anyways all went really well , The .270wsm loaded with the 150gr norma oryx really shined on this hunt! ..we were a group of 8, and managed to take 11 moose (8 bulls, 3 cows) and 2 caribou as well 8) ...I well give a more detailed report with some pics as well :) ...Oh, I shot 2 bulls and 1 cow outta the 11 moose   ...Lou

Welcome back Lou, glad everything went well can't wait for full report with photos

Blessings,
Dan

I well get some pics up very soon today...The closest shot was 125yds, and the longest was 478yds...My shots were @245 yds shooting down hill, all 3 moose were together, the 270wsm with 4 shots, dropped all 3 with authority  ..All 3 were DRT all within a 25yd circle,it all happened real fast, my guide could'nt believe his eyes, this took all but about 5 seconds. It's some real rugged country, and I well never forget this hunt.Pics well follow shortly...Lou :)

Good show Lou.

Gerry, with an outfitter, you can buy a 2nd tag, and or have your name as a secondary hunter on a license, but the primary license holder needs to be with you :)...BTW did'nt have a chance to use the 375 H&H, but the 270wsm with 150gr norma oryx realy shined on this hunt....We did a drive on wednesday, and the 2 bulls and cow were pushed right to me about 245yds out, my cat-pole realy played a big role in this situation, allowing me 4 shots for 4 hits on 3 very dead moose. The hunt was kinda hard, and physicaly demanding for sure, prior to wednesday, I walked miles up and down hills, through bogs, and the dirtiest stuff you can think of, but on wednesday I was rewarded with the best hunt in my life so far :) ...Lou

Congratulations, Lou. I'm a little bummed out that the 375 H&H didn't taste blood for you, but the 270WSM is more than adequate for moose. You've done good, mate. Great pictures of your harvest and some of the countryside.

Thanks Mike, me too pal..I would have loved to use the 375 H&H, which I did from sunday afternoon till wednesday morning, seen 4 moose in total but waaaay outta range...I tried changing hats, boots you name it for better luck in getting a shot off  ...Yes I was getting discouraged with only 1 1/2 days of hunting left...Bottom line is, I'm forever happy I took the sako 270WSM along with me pal  ..It came through for me, and realy hammers moose too  ...Lou bye

That's great Lou, the 150 gr Partition's definitely did well to knock down such big animals quickly. Just makes me want to buy a 270 Win even more now, thanks ;) Hunting moose can be tough in the swampy country they love to live in, you did well.

Congratulations, Lou. Thank you for sharing
Thanks Fotis, I have more pics coming..at the camp, moose don't see the meat pole too often...time is a factor, as they pretty much go straight to the butcher about 3 hrs away from camp to be cut up and vaccume packed..Lou

:) .Gerry on the spike bull @245yds slightly quartering away from me the 150gr norma oryx blew through both lungs, and destroyed the opposite shoulder and still kept on truckin  ..I'm very convinced pal :) ....Lou

Wow what a super hunt , congrats . I have heard of huge moose populations on the rock , looks like there SRD is looking after it though. You'll be eating moose jerky for 6 years lol
