Ballistic Tip ?'s for '06 and .300 Sav.

What powder would you all recommend I use for 125 gr. BT's in the '06 ? The intended target are coyotes. Secondly, I'd like to try 150 gr. BT's in my 721 Rem .300 Sav but it seems like to get the appropriate COL I have to seat the bullet too far into the case. I normally use Rem 150 gr PSPCL's for the .300 Sav.

For the 06 I always had great luck with IMR 3031 and 4064. As far as the 300 savage I used 748 and IMR 4064 with no problems. This is with the 150 BT and 150 SST. Accuracy was good.

I shoot an Odd6 also and am very interested in the answer to your question. Would like to use the 125BT's in my 06 for coyote hunting during the off season. I Just ordered some factory seconds 125BT's and went ahead and picked up some Varget to get started with as it has the highest velocities listed in the Nosler reloading guide.

However, I posted a question over on the Nosler Hunting forum concerning 125BT's & velocities exceeding 3,000 FPS. The reloading guide shows that a 30-06 with 24" barrel & a max charge of Varget can push the 125BT out at 3,418 FPS. Is this too fast for a BT?....or is a BT at this velocity OK for cayotes?
