Is the AccuBond to tuff? Will the BT "blow up or fragment?" Is the PT the way to go? I guess most shots are long range on these critters.

Any pet loads are appreciated. I have a bunch of VV powder.

racklover,

The Partition is always a reliable bullet to use but it isn't necessary for antelope.
With the BT's you need to keep the "Impact" velecoity at 3000 fps or less
for optium performance. The AB is basically a bonded version of the BT, it will hold up better at 3000 fps + impact velicoties.
Since Antelope are not that big and usually shot at longer ranges, either the BT or AB would work fine. I would use which ever one shot the best out of my rifle and never look back.

Hope this helps you out.

All I can tell you is that I watched my buddy drop a nice antelope in New Mexico this last fall with a 270 WSM and the 130 grain Nosler Partition worked just fine at a range of about 250 yards.

In fact, I shot an antelope with a 25-06 using the 100 grain Partition and my dad also shot an antelope with the 130 grain Partition in his 270 Winchester. All performed quite well, providing complete pass throughs and thoroughly dead antelope.

But in all honesty, any of the Nosler bullets, be it Ballistic Tip, AccuBond, or Partition will work well on antelope. Shoot the one that works best in your rifle.

I just shoot the Partition for most everything and do not worry about it.

Used 150 gn Ballistic Tips, the year before last, on an antelope out of my 7mm. Distance was 250 yards. The hole was BIG. No problem with the exit hole but it was the size of my fist. Velocity out of the barrel was 3050 fps. Not sure what it was going when it hit him. This was before I could get my hands on the Accubonds. I have had great success with good accuracy with the Partitions also, but will go with the Accubonds next year when I go out again.

Any of the bullets will work great.

The AB was shot during our testing phase on everything from a 40lb whitetail doe to a 600lb critter and did everything it was supposed to do.

The 140gr AB out of a 270WSM is a pretty good bet, as is a 130gr PT.

My buddy had a Win Featherweight in 270 WSM (he now has a Kimber in the same caliber). He used it very successfully on antelope with the 140 AB. Even with Texas heart shots!
