what's the best powder/copper solvent , that contains no water, that you have used? prefer aerosol just for the convenience factor..thanks

Gunslick foaming bore cleaner. Spray it in, wait 30 min, run a brush over it a few times, wet patch, dry patch, oil patch, done.

I've been pretty impressed with Wipeout.

Holland's Witches Brew. It's really nothing but some Kroil with 1200 grit aluminum oxide in but it really seems to do well without a big stink or lots of scrubbing. The aluminum oxide gave me pause but have had zero issues with it.

Bore Tech Inc. C4 Carbon remover and their C4+2 Copper remover along with their Chameleon Gel. I have used for the last 20 year Shooters Choice MC#7 bore cleaner and their Copper remover, this stuff above even removed what the Shooter Choice left in the barrel on tough jobs.

Barnes CR10 is also very good but strong ammonia smell as well as Sweet's, both can not be left in the barrel!

I've had good results with a lot of different bore cleaners and still have several different brands in the cabinet but i find myself using Wipe-Out these days more than any other.

Don't know if it's the best, shooters choice mc7 bore cleaner and the copper remover they make has always worked well for me.

I use Bore Tech Eliminator for both carbon and copper. If it is still copper I break out the BTE CU2.. Works very well for me and doesn't smell up the joint.

Does anyone rate: Tetra-Gun, Butch's Bore Shine or Pro Shot copper solvent?
I'd be interested to know views on these.

I have used gallons of Butch's Bore Shine. I use this on customers' rifles. My rationale was that this was relatively simple and effective. Owners would be more likely to use this than a multi-solvent system.

I know the cleaners I listed work with varying degrees of effectiveness & Butch's has always been my 'go-to' choice Mike, but are there more effective cleaners out there that require less effort?
Personally I've never seen 'Wipeout' on a store shelf in the UK -
I have seen Forest Foam which I guess is similar, but it's pretty expensive.

My own routine is to put a meths soaked patch through the bore after cleaning, just to make sure the Butch's is gone, then another patch with oil to preserve until next required. Another meths patch clears the oil & then I'm ready to go hunting.

Incidentally these new felt cleaning pads are hitting the market here - the propaganda says they're very effective, - if rather pricey. I haven't tried them yet, but I will.

Those might work well but I've got the wife talked into buying the fabric and cutting them with her quilting fabric cutter. Custom made and I can't beat the price unless you include maintenance on the wife.

that sure beats cutting them your self and you can't be accused of unfair child labor unless she is under age.
OHHH I just couldn't resist that.

Just cleaned my Vanguard with Wipeout and the patches came out tan coloured. Ran some Carb-Out through and still some tan. Any ideas?
