Enduron Powder suspected issue

I bought 2 types of Enduron powder when they came out, IMR 4166 and 7977. I have at least a half pound of each left. I know that they quit offering it for sale so it is no longer available.

However, I have seen a storage issue which could be a result of Enduron powder chemistry. I have stored about 20# of various brands and types of rifle powder (still in their original cans) in a plastic tub with a loose fitting top. All of the powder containers with the older type of metal lid have quickly and badly corroded to the point I had to change containers to those with plastic lids. I strongly suspect that it is a result of the Enduron Powder but not certain. I have now removed the Enduron powder from that storage bin and put it in a sealed container with one uncorroded metal top to see what happens.

1) has anyone else seen this issue?
2) do you know what the issue with Enduron powder was that caused them to take it off the market?
3) do you think Enduron powder is still safe to use?
4) any other ideas on what might have caused this corrosion?

TIA

I had that issue, I had about 4-5 lbs in one pound containers of Enduron IMR4166 and IMR7977, had them for a year or so. One day I searched for those powders in my cabinets, and noticed that the caps were pretty corroded and when I opened one of the 4166, I noticed rustic vapors seeping out and looked inside the container, it was full of rustic fumes and the kernels looked normal, opened another can, same thing. Opened a 7977 and same issue like the 4166. I contacted Hodgdon and sent them pictures and a write up, they offered to replace them with powders of my choice except the Endurons, so I asked for H1000 and H4350, and they sent me 5 cans of each. I still have several 1 pound containers of 4451, and so far there has been no issues with it.
They discontinued the Enduron powders for those reasons, and no I would not use it, either contact Hodgdon to replace them with a different powder of your choice or use as grass fertilizer. Here is the link to my old post on this issue.

I had read of this happening. I had 2lbs of 4451 and never had any issues with it before using it all up. Accuracy and velocity were good. The copper reduction claim I didn't see much if any effect.
