We all have our opinions as to bullet weight/style for this application. I hunt deer in very hilly areas with many shots coming at 500 yds=/-. The cover is thick with open spots of small size mixed in.Although the distances are know via my rangefinder ,the shots have to be taken quickly. The bucks don't do the "magazine cover pose" for too long. Conversely, we get shots in timber at 50 yds or so. This variety is a real test for any load. My pick so far is the 150 grain AB sighted in 3" @ 100yds, velocity 3,320. It provides the max. PBR to aid in making good bullet placement more likely. What's your choice?
