I told them to finish it to the original Sako contour. They finished it at .650" so I would say it is a #4.
It was my first rebarrel and since I have done 4 others. The others were all done with a gunsmith. It only costs $25.00 to ship a gun anywhere in the US insured for $1,000 and they ship it directly back to you, no FFL.
Gunsmiths rely on the quality of their work to get more work and you can talk directly to them, not to the shift foreman. JMHO

Jim - I understand it completely now and with Jake's comments it is clear as day. I thought that is what he was describing but wasn't 100% sure.
Woods - that is an awesome looking rifle and the comment about the 3 groove being easy to clean is what is prompting me to go that route. I've read several of the same comments on the internet just "googling" 3 groove barrels.
