I'm taking a break from charging some cases with a known good load and about to start seating bullets in .005" increments toward the lands to finalize the deal next time at the range and it got me thinking.... Will the best load that works in my rifles work the best anywhere I travel/get reassigned, or will I need to start from scratch with powder charges at other elevations/humidity? I have always found the best shooting load for my gun and then mass produced that same load ensuring I have plenty of ammo on hand.

Only one way to know........ and you know what that is!

Its not realistic or vilable in most case's to make for one gun one load for say FLA deer hunting and one for Sascatchewand deer hunting and one for Colrado deer hunting one load taylored for your gun will work fine for all three loactions. Remember you all ready removed some veriables when you taylored the load to your gun over factory ammo. Temp. humitity. altitude are just virables encountered while hunting in the real world. Its us reloaders that worry about which hairs to split.

But to quantify this. If you where stationed in VA and your famialy own a 10,000 acher ranch in colorado at the 6-7k ft level. I would work up my loads there where I hunted most, even if I reload them in VA at my leisher.

Some cartridges are notorious for being conditions sensative.
The 6mm PPC comes to mind. It's common for bench shooter to have several different loads for the 6ppc depending on conditions.
