Best Torque Screwdriver?

What is a good one to get for torquing down action screws and scope ring screws?

I'd just get a good torque wrench from Sears and then get some screwdriver bits for it. Much easier to deal with, more versatile, almost as compact, and significantly easier to get checked and recalibrated. There's a nice model in their microtork series that's set up for inch pounds that works great.

My personal torque wrench measures in snug, tight, and darn tight. Efficient and economic

While there are probably better tools out there, I bought the Wheeler from Midway and am happy with it.

I have taken any number of rifles out of the stock and replaced them using the torque wrench and found they did not change impact.

I have used it to put on a number of scopes, as well. After using it, I think I was probably over tightening scope rings without it.

right there with ya yote but I only have two settings on mine.

Almost tight enough and Snapped the head off the bolt!!! :x

I am thinking of getting the wheeler because of the above, heard some good things about it plus it is cheap or I mean economical.

Yote

I hear ya, you have a calibrated elbow too ??

I wouldn't have the Snap-on, but it was necessary for my lively hood for quite some time.

The Wheeler has as many bad reviews as good. I think I will spend the extra cash for better quality.

I use Yote's method as well. Where do you find what the torque setting as supposed to be for mounts on rings and bases?

Contact the manufacturer and they will tell you what they advise for their mounts, rings, or rifle actions.

For anyone in need of a good torque wrench I just picked this one that dubyam suggested today it was $20 off at sears until sunday. Only $60.

Yote, I'm with you. Mine doesn't need calibration either. :?

I have the same question as asked. What is the proper number of in lbs or in oz for the torque? Craftman is in inch pounds, which is 12 times stronger than in oz. Snap ons are in inch oz,

The only measure that I can find is for Nightforce scopes to a rail at 68 inch lbs.
