Lots of scammers have been emerging from the shadows with the current supply crisis. They have set up many websites which are out to scam honest folks trying to get components.

How do you know if the place is legit?

Go to the website in this case this one https://discountammunitionstore.com/

Looks real enough and professionally laid out.

OK at this point add a few random items in your cart. In this case I added 15 (100 round packs ) of Winchester primers!

Go to checkout as if you were to buy them.

This is the moment of truth. If they do NOT offer credit card as an option the site is a fraud! Case closed!

If they only offer Zelle, Paypal, Crypto currency or bitcoin run away! You will never get your funds back. Try telling Paypal that you used them to buy powder bullets and primers and you want your money back, and see what they tell you!

Yup, when I was desperately in need of powders, primers and bullets last year, I went through a few new sites, they would not even take a credit card at the end where I checked out the items, but only offered Venmo, Zelle and Crypto. Knew that they were up to no good. I rather stick with the well known suppliers.

Another big red flag is all the grammatical errors. 1 or 2 I can over look, but when it reads like Mr Miyagi wrote it, my scam radar goes off.

I don't list prices or have payment options on my SEB-USA website.
I do offer PayPal, Venmo, personal check, bank check, or USPS MO's, (Some folks send cash via USPS-I don't recommend it) but I DON'T have payment by credit card as a option

Unfortunately, the scammers will never disappear. Even if programmers develop a system that cannot be hacked, I am sure there will be people who will come up with a way to get around this. However, bank fraudsters have come up with many methods to rob bank customers in the last few years, so it is necessary to be extremely vigilant. Before entering into large transactions, I always turn to Mortgage Broker Cambridge to check the service providers and contract terms. Specialists are much better versed in the details of such transactions.

That said PayPal will protect you if you use a credit card. They have to protect you if using a card.
Now if you just have funds in paypal and use it only with no CC...I can't say what would happen. Moreover things like cash app, crypto (what the
that even is I don't know) I can't speak to what might happen then...

I do know if you get scammed and use a CC through PayPal they will refund you.

Just an FYI...
What these hats are doing is making a fictitious website, sell some goods for a few hours, then they abolish the website, contact info, location, etc.
Rinse and repeat.
Next day they do the very same thing with a new website. It doesn't matter the goods. It could be selling shooting sports material or DeWalt nail guns, etc.
They score some sales and before anyone can catch up to what is going on they disappear.
If they scored 5 or 10 quick sales of a couple hundred or thousand bucks...then pull the plug and do it all over again.

They might technically be based in CA and if the theft is less than a grand even if caught they don't really even get punished. Perhaps they score up to $999.99 then close the site altogether and do it again.

How finely tuned is this scam? They even give you a tracking number through USPS. A legit tracking number but it's vague. It doesn't really say details within the tracking number.
How? They hack into the USPS...they get a zip code that matches your shipping zip code and find a tracking number being delivered to your same zip code.

Be careful out there as this goes beyond shooting sports related items. It could be anything but if a deal looks too good to be true I guarantee you it is.

Update:
Stay away from Southern Defence Ammo.
Their website is rigged to add a shipping insurance charge. They sent me a 5 box order for exact same order ( 10 boxes) instead of the 5 boxes I ordered. To include 2 separate boxes to include DOUBLE shipping and DOUBLE shipping insurances......
I immediately called try to straighten it out, they claimed I had placed the orders and the ammo is mine and they will do nothing about it, so have a nice weekend......
NEVER AGAIN FOR ME.

Hell! Midway did that to me a few years back when they had Timney triggers on sale. I ordered four triggers for 98 Mausers and they sent them in two packages with shipping charges for each package. All four triggers could have easily fit in the shipping package they use. It took one hell of a long time before I ordered anything else from them.

I have been on this site for quite some time. I now have terminal cancer--this is not made up! I had a heart problem but they operated and now I am ok there.
I am not a scammer. I have already sold some rifles (old mil), some ammo and dies to people I know.
I have a long list of brass, bullets and such I want to sell to make it easier for my daughter when I am gone.
I have a bunch of 454Casull brass and bullets. No firearm. Most all is new brass and I have a lot of Nosler 260grPAR (discontinued) as well as Hornady and a box of Swift 265gr bullets. I have 7.7Jap, 6.5jap, 7.5 Swiss, 30-40Kraig, 300Win mag, 45-70 and others. Of course I have 9mm. I have reloading dies with shell holders most are RCBS.
I am trying to downsize the stuff so she is not overpowered with them.
My daughter and her family hunt so most of my hunting rifles will go to her. My pistol collection the same.
