Darkhorse,
That is actually a complex subject you have asked about, but I can share this much with you.
When listening to a group of guys discussing the distances they travel in a normal days hunting,
You better be wearing your highest pair of boots, somehow men have decided over the years
That one of the best ways to embellish their hunting stories is to inject vast distances and
Brutal hardships into the main body of the story! So a buck shot 10 miles back, is worth say
Roughly 10X more than one shot only a mile back? Though one shot right out the pickup
Window is not absolutely worthless it still has some value............
How far the hunter travels even if he never gets a deer ( or even sees one), is soposed to keep
Him in high standings with his peers.......so after nearly 50 years of listening to these wild tales
Of phenomenal distances traveled, I now view any hunter that is walking over 5 miles a day , in
Darn good shape and a very keen man....... 10 mile a dayers, are almost Olympic material. And
20 mile a dayers, also usually can drink a half gallon of 151 rum a day,and posess a natural sense of direction that they were just born with, that is similar, but superior to, a homeing pigeon. They have slept with over a hundred Woman, all raging beautys! And all their guns shoot into the same hole at 500 yds!
