The neck, but I got the answer. It is .12-.13.
Thank you

If I may ask, what are you working on?

I need to buy reloading neck die bushing s type for reloading. To establish the bushing size it helps to get the brass thickness.
At least right now I know that .307, .308 or .309 busing size would work with Redding dies for Nosler brass in 280 AI.
I can get it ordered now and start to reload.... but I need a rifle!!!
It is on order just wait.

Redding Type S Match Bushing 3 Die Neck Sizer Set # 38428 ( Redding # ) and bushings 308 and 309. This is 280 AI set.
Shell holder is the same as my 270 win. I am waiting for M48 in 280 AI. I hope buy Easter or end of March.
I would like to develop 2 loads. One for deer and one for elk. I think 140 AB and 160 Ab will be my choice. So far AB never failed me in my 308 and 270 win.

About the bushing size I might add later .307 size or .310, depends how .308 or .309 will work. When I was testing neck sizes fro 270 win I bought too many bushings and I have found I use .302 and .303 only. I think I will avoid this mistake to own too many bushings for 280 AI. I rather buy more bullets and spent more time on the range.

M48 in 280 AI. Do you know who has in stock 7mm 160 gr AB?

Congratulations on the M48! Which flavor are you getting?
Check Shooters Pro Shop for the 7mm 160 AB.

Custom Sporter M48 280 AI synthetic but........ the stock will be tan color, not dark gray. Also the lenght of pull will be 13.75, instead 13.5. It should look like varmint model. This might be the first one with tan stock in this model. But..... don't tell anybody. The reason I decided to order this rifle: solid all weather finish and 280 AI.
When I get it I will post a picture.

RL 22 is an awesome powder for the 280 AI with 140-160 gr bullets. Let me know if I can assist you with your load development.

280 AI uses the same powders as 270 win. I have RL-22, Rl-17, Rl-19, also H4831, H-1000 and Retumbo, IMR 4831.

I saw somebody posted its loads with Rl -22 and 140 AB, 140 BT and 150E, with great accuracy. I think I will stay on 140AB and 160 AB. Great for hunting and long range practice. I mean up to 300 yards. I will to keep you posted with I get the rifle and start new loads..
I would like to stay on two powders only. Rl-22 and IMR 4831 or Retumbo for 160AB to keep it simple.

In your 280 AI, RL 22, IMR/H 4831 are your powders.

How do you deal with RL-22 temperature reaction?

What reaction? I shoot in some very cool weather, and there is no significant problem that I have observed.

Reaction I mean loss of velocity.
Some people say rl-22 is temperature sensitive. What does really means?

All powders ate temp sensative to a point.
I have used several pounds of RL 22 and never had a problem. Maybe I have just been lucky I I have never witnessed what so many have claimed.
Using RL 22 with the 160 gr AB, I get single digit SD's.
