Bummed Out.....

I GOT IT!!!!! And man is it messed up! The small shank that rides in the spring is almost shaped like an "S". There wasn't any dubris in the hole so I don't know how that happened.

Good deal!
Did you get a new plunger?

Yeah, I ordered a new plunger and spring from midway. They should be waiting for me when I get back from Portland next week.

The comments are correct. A backed out primer may be low or high pressure but it's easy to check. Try and re-prime it. If the primer is loose it's high pressure. I should have not assumed. Have you cleared the ejector? What is the current status? Can you take it hunting?
Good Shooting
Elkhunt

My new ejector and spring showed up today so I'll go to the range tomorrow. As for the brass, I'm only getting one firing before the pockets expand. Some have been loose after fire forming. I don't remember my forming load off hand but it's just hot enough to stretch the brass so it's safe to say I'm a little dissapointed about that. I'm gonna try rem. brass and see if they hold up any better. If they don't there may be a custom 300 Weaver for sale in the future as I am getting more and more inclined to buy a good ole 300 winnie.

Please let us know guy!

If you sell it call savage and ask them to build you a 300 rum. Mine shot 168 tsx's at 3400 fps and about 1/2" all day. All this from their custom shop for under $800!!!

Wow! I spent more than that having everything done to my Weaver! It shoots about as good as your rum but it's been a pain in the a$$. Hopefully I can work the bugs out of it. That way I don't have to spend a week in the dog house for buying another rifle

Good time (but not during hunting season) to get the honey do list done so you can go hunting. Do your loading when management goes to bed.

Hope you can get all the bugs out of your 300 Weaver.
