Burris Signature Series 3-9X40 (pre signature select)

Optically how do these stand up? I am really intrigued as I have owned many fullfields and ffII but never a signature series.

This is the older model with the turrents up the tube.

Are they in the class of a vx3?

I have had several and the one I have now I put head to head in a low light test with my 3-9 Conquest to earn a place on my back up elk rifle.
Was a dead heat as it got dark, but as the crosshairs disappeared, the Electro-Dot feature put the Zeiss in the mud.
I'd say it's very likely they will compare well with the VX-3.
