I have 2 rifles with 1.75" mounts. I always assumed (first big mistake) they were 1.5" from line of site centerline to centerline of bore axis. All the reloading manual list 1.5", as standard. My question is, how do I make a correction or calculate for new height?

Many of the ballistics programs like the one RCBS offers have a setting for scope height built into the software. Plug in your velocity, bullet or B.C., and other pertinent info and it calculates your trajectory for you. I've even seen scope height options on free software. However I've always just shot whatever load on paper to find the correct trajectory even if I had a book or program trajectory sheet.

Sierra's and other's ballistic software allow you to change all parameters and conditions, including scope height.
