I bought some 130 Gr E-Tips in .270 Win. I will be using 42 Gr of IMR 4895. What should my COAL be? I lent my Nosler 6 Manual to a friend and I have never gotten it back

Welcome to the forum.

The SAAMI COL is 3.340" but I almost always seat my bullets longer. I try to get as close to the lands as possible but may me limited to the max length of the magazine.

Here is what Nosler stated about loading the E-Tips

"We recommend starting with Nosler’s minimum load and not to exceed the mid load.
*We recommend seating E-Tip™ products .050” to .100” off the rifling lands for optimal accuracy."

You'll get a little notice that says the same thing with your bullets. The B.C. is .459 for everyone that has been asking.

I didn't get a little notice with my E-Tips either time (30cal or 270cal). I have yet to make it to the range, but I'm not worried about distance to the lands, as I'll be shooting them in Weatherbys, and there's plenty of freebore. I hope to be able to post some results soon...

I used the same seating depth that I load my 270WSM 140ABs too. I did experiment with COL, but it didn't make any difference or the groups opened up.

JD338,

Thank you for the welcome. When you say you seat your bullets longer, I am assuming that they are longer the SAAMI COAL of 3.340".
