Is the 7mm 120 BT constructed as a whitetail/antelope bullet or a varmint bullet? I'd be shooting it at a little under 3000 fps. Too bad there isn't a 120 grain AB.
We used 4 of them at 3100 fps with Varget out of a 7mm-08 to nail 4 antelope last season. They were a little on the "soft' side but did great. For big muleys....... :?:
The 120 gr BT is a very robust bullet, one that will work well on deer size game. The water expansion test I did with a 280 AI was very inpressive, even with an impact velocity of 3100 fps.
I use the Nosler 120gr Bal.Tip in my Remington 700BDL in 7mm Rem.Mag. and find it's also a very accurate bullet. Mine will reliably group at .69" (5 at 100yds). I load it up with VV560 70grs. This gives me 3150fps., a realy nice load. Best wishes.
I use the 120gr. Bal. Tip in my 7mm Rem. Mag. and am quite impressed with its accuracy. It'll reliably turn in groups of .69" (5 at 100yds.) at 3150fps. That's certainly accurate for anything I'm apt to hunt with it. Best wishes.
