Cooper, Hill Country or Nosler Legacy

I hate to throw this in the mix, but a guy I work with had a Cooper rifle built specifically for him in .280 Remington. He spent a LOT of money on it and he cannot get it to shoot! In fact he's so ashamed of how poorly it shoots that he has held back on telling me what kind of groups he's getting with it! I've been bugging him to take me out with him so I can shoot it as well, but so far we haven't had the time to get together to do that.

I have heard from other folks that the Cooper's are great shooting rifles. I have handled a few and they sure are beautiful and appear to be well made, but I have never shot one myself........yet!

I have looked at the Winchester Super Grades and they are nice rifles.
The only thing, they are not chambered in the calibers i have ben looking at.
Also they average a little heavier the I have been looking at.

I have a neighbor that had a problem with a cooper and they repaired with no problems,
and the ones I have looked at came with targets.
6mm Remington has the coworker contacted cooper and if so what have the done about the rifle.

I don't believe he has even though they are only 30 miles away from us. I sure would take it down to them with some targets and show them and ask them to shoot it in case they didn't think he was doing it right or something. It's called procrastination! Not sure why he has not taken care of it yet!

It all boiles down to customer service! There are going to be problems, no matter what the item is. How does the manufacture handle the problem to make it right with the customer.

Nosler offers a buy back gaurentee! 30 days from the date of purchase, no matter what the reason is, they will buy it back so long as it is in the same condition as when they sold it to you.

You can't beat that gaurentee!

The 280 AI is an awesome cartridge that has a lot of cool factor to go along with it.

Get the M48 Legacy in 280 AI and don't look back.

It would really be worth saving up for one of them! It might me sacrificing buying more rifles (yeah right), but it would be awesome to have one REALLY nice shooting stick in the safe! Scotty

I haven't shot the bigger caliber but I know guys that use their Coop on competition. My 223 AI shoots like a dream. It doesn't matter what bullet you feed it.

Sweet groups for sure, DF. It is really satisfying to see such excellent precision from the shooter and from the rifle. A good match, I'd say.

Thanks for the kind words guys. This Cooper sure didn't disappoint. Not to stray away from this post, I still think the Cooper is a good value when compared to the other two that the OP is contemplating of getting.

Desert Fox,
Great looking groups, Thats why I,m looking at Cooper Rifles
I have not ruled out the Legacy but will look at them when I get over to Bend.
Hopefully soon.
