Does anyone have any experience with the CZ 455 American, more particularly the bull-barreled version?

I shoot a CZ 550 Varmint in 308..... have a friend that liked mine so much he bought one just like it...

He liked it so much...he now owns 5 different CZ's.

You wil find they are excellent shooters right out of the box.

From what I have heard, the CZ rifles are very nice and accurate.

I owned a CA 550 FS which was a very attractive rifle. For heavy bush, it was quick handling and sufficiently accurate to serve me well. I sold it, however, to pick up a Model 70 FWT (surprise). The CZ rifles enjoy a good reputation for reasonable accuracy out of the box and reliable functioning.

I had a few and worked on plenty of CZ rifles. From 17 HMR to 375 H&H.
All of them were very nicely built and very very accurate.

The 455 is the latest version of CZ's rimfire rifle.

I bought my son an earlier CZ varmint rifle in .17 HMR. It's amazingly accurate... Haven't fired the 455, but if the older CZ rimfires are any yardstick, the newer rifles should be tackdrivers too. Functioning is flawless, and accuracy is very good.

That's a pretty skookum recommendation, Guy. It would make me want to go out and buy one.

Yes - it's a good rifle - and that little .17 HMR is a cool little cartridge.

I need to address the trigger on my sons rifle - it doesn't have a particularly nice trigger pull. Kind of gritty, long and heavy. I understand the newer versions of the CZ rimfire varminter are much better, and also understand that there's an aftermarket trigger kit that fixes the problem with the one I bought.

We've had some fun with it. Hard to miss!

My lefty CZ 452 American is very accurate, the updated 455 with a bull barrel should be even more so. I'm not sure if you have a set trigger option on the gun you are looking at but the standard trigger on mine is a bit heavy and creepy and will get a Rifle Basix trigger one day. That is the only negative on a very well made and accurate gun.

This one does have the set trigger. The bull barreled version with a nice scope will be about the weight of a hunting rifle, which is what I want. It will be a great rifle to practice with and not break the bank, and all the reviews on accuracy I have read have been outstanding. Plus, I can pick up a 22M barrel for it down the road for varmints and such

Recently picked up the 527 Varmint / Target with the set trigger, and it's amazing. Great rifle. I'm also a CZ pistol convert. I see many more CZ's in my future.

My 17 Hummer CZ did the same thing Guy. .43" was the best at 100 Yards.
