What is the major difference between Ballistic Tip and AccuBond bullets, as far as penetration and distruction cavity length? Or other major difference.

Welcome to the forum, happy to have you here.

The BT and AB are similar by appearance but perform differently on game.

The BT will shed a vast majority of its lead core. During this process, some of the lead will act as secondary projectiles, shredding tissue in its path. This is why it is so effective on deer sized game. The BT is designed to expand between impact velocities of 3000-1600 fps.

The AB has a more robust jacket and a bonded core. The heavier jacket retards the jacket expansion and the bonded core stays with the jacket. This results in higher retained weight which enhances penetration. AB's are designed to expand at impact velocities between 3100-1800 fps.

Thanks, have been using Ballistic Tips for years, and bought some Accubonds to use in certain applications, and just wanted to make sure that my thoughts were right.
