Done with Winter

We've enjoyed a week of temps rising to 13 C (55 F). Sure feels as if spring is coming. There is still snow on the ground, but it is melting. Time to change out my winter tires for the all seasons. However, this far north, I've witnessed snow in every month of the year. Still, we should have more "warm" days than cold.

June , July , and August are the 3 months I’ve never seen snow in Central WI.
I've watched Canada Day parades (July 1st) with snow pelting down. One memorable parade was conducted after a dump of about 20 cm (8 inches) of very wet snow. While opening day of moose (August 15) is often warmish (even up to 10 C (50 F)), I have hunted in a light skiff of snow on multiple occasions. I remember one drive up the Alaska Highway in late August when about 30 cm (12 inches) of snow had fallen.

We really have only two seasons here. Winter and summer with maybe a week or two in between claiming to be spring and fall. We were 99* day before yesterday and 98 the day before that. It's supposed to only be in the mid to upper 70s today. Temps this time of year are like a yoyo, up and down.

We have a 3000 acre wild fire burning near hear. The 80 degree weather and lack of humidity isn't helping them to get it fully contained. Right now rain or snow would be a blessing.
I heard earlier today that some area fire departments are sending help down to Fort McCoy to help out.

Utah broke a decade of moderate drought with a historic winter, for cold and snow depth. Now the days are getting up into the 60’s and the flooding has begun!
Good call on snow tires, think I’ll change the wife’s car tires this morning. . .

It was in the high 80's here last week and by sunday night I'm supposed to have 4" snow on the ground. My own fault- I took the snow tires off o wednesday. Oh ya Ive had enough....
