I'm looking at getting some and playing with a few rifles.

Has anybody used it and what do they think about it?

Is there anything you would recomend instead of Dura Coat?

Did you bake it or not?

Would you do it again?

Messy?

If you got any pics handy I would love to see them.

Thanks!

I am looking into teflon coating myself I like that it goes inside on the moving parts as well cost is similar

not that you could but if you ever chipped the duracoat I think it could be bad

check this guy out seems like reasonable prices

jmad,

I've had several rifles teflon coated, and I like what I get. I have handled quite a few rifles that were dura-coated in the shop. It holds up exceptionally well, and the colour selection is a great selling feature. I prefer the look of Teflon, but that is a personal preference that has nothing to do with durability.

Dr. Mike wht is the difference in texture and look between the two? I have never seen either.

teflon is smooth and satin like the duracoat is definately thicker or heavier the teflon you really cant tell is there minus the difference in color or finish

nitis said it quite well.

Teflon looks like a black finish. It is a matte black that can be quite handsome. The duracoat is indeed thicker. Duracoat holds up better and is quite resistant to marring. Teflon can be scratched, though it is plenty tough for normal usage.

Thanks guys. I'm going to be ordering some from midway this week. I read a bunch of reviews and decided to get all the stuff I need from there but I'm going to get my own air brush. Everybody that used it said the product was great but the air brush that came with it was a piece of crap. I'll get some pics posted when I get it done and let you guys know how things turned out. First on the list is My bro's XD .40 then my .243 to practice on.

I'll keep ya posted.
