Hey guys,
Just bought a box of 7mm etips at 150 grs. I have the nosler book, edition 6. The reason for the post is that a notice in the box says to start with a low load, and stay below the mid. my gun likes a fairly hot load, and for 4831 for ABs, I am at 66 Grs. Couple of questions:
1) Any of you loading for 7mm bee with etips? I have great groups with ABs, and the gun likes them pretty hot.
2) Any loads with faster powders? the only reason that I can think of staying below mid is that the bullet may be longer, and we could have a volumetric problem with the heavier loads.

Last, any of you know why nosler wants us to load etips at mid and below?
thanks,
Hardpan

So far, with the E-Tips I've loaded, even though I've heeded the caution to remain at the mid-point as a maximum charge, I'm seeing velocities that approximate the full charge on the dense metal cored bullets.

The E-Tip has a long bearing surface and pressures spike fast. Use the mid range load date as the MAX for the E-Tips.

Thanks for the warnings! I followed both yours and Nosler's advice, and based on the forum here, I set up the chrono as well. I was getting almost 3400 FPS (3359-3369 4 shots) with the low end load (64 gr of ime 4831)... Now, I am going to try the minimum and see if I can get a good group.
