Thanks pal  ...I'm pretty much all ready to go,have all my gear and stuff I need for the trip..How you doing pal?...looks like your gonna have a busy fall too 8) ..as for me, I'm only doing the 1 hunt this year, might shotgun hunt in december for deer for a few days locally, too much on the go right now with the daughters bridal shower, and wedding in august, it be nice if money did grow on trees eh  ..thank god for work!.Lou

That mount looks great Lou. I might have to try that on a few of my other Marlin's that are going to need glass in the future. I run alot of EGW rails and I have nothing to complain about with them.

Nice looking Marlin 1895. BTW, what is the Sako 85 chambered for? It looks like a medium action model. It is not .338 Federal per chance, is it? I have a Sako 85 Hunter (walnut) in .338 Federal which I use as a short range woods rifle here in Washington for elk. Just curious, that is all?

Thanks fellas :) ..My Sako is chambered in .270wsm, I shoot the 150gr Partition's and 150gr norma oryx bullets, they both run about 3100-3120 fps and have same poi from 50-400yds..the rifle can stretch out further, but my limit is 400yds on once live game  ..Lou

The .270 WSM is certainly the more popular of the WSM grouping. Many of the people on this forum have the .270 WSM and seem to really like the round. I just had noticed that your action was a medium one and was curious about what caliber that you had. My Model 85 Sako is accurate as well and has been a very consistent performer for me over tha past four years.
