I am about to recommend the Nosler 165 gr Partition reloads for my hunting party this coming year for 30-06 and 300 Win Mag rifles. We will be hunting both Buck and Elk at the same time. The chances are good that there will not be any shot over 380 yds, and more than likely in the 100-200 yard range.
I know JD338 uses them often. I have seen a good few state they love the performance but they are not very consistently accurate. Is the reason why they are not consistently accurate because one has not taken the time to work the best load for their rifle or is there something in their build that disallows a consistent accurate bullet. I want to get a maximum size group of about 3/4" at 100 yards. Is this possible with these bullets?
Thanks
