Fell into another model 70 30-06...

I've got a 25-06 and 35 Whelen. Someday I'll smash a 30-06 into the safe. Just for grins.

Traded the 30-06 for a 20 gauge Remington 1100...something to shoot clay with.
I'm sorry.
Too bad you couldn't tuck that '06 away. Having a back up rifle is always a good thing.
What's a shotgun? [emoji2] I don't believe I've ever seen one.

I am actually starting to appreciate my .30-06 Model 70 more. Since I removed the hot melt bedding and epoxy bedded the recoil lug, plus putting a pillar in, the rifle has responded by giving me groups with 165 Partitions which have to be seen to be believed.

This rifle was a USRAC BOSS Tupperware on which I replaced the stock with a factory walnut Grade II. It has the old trigger style and is a dull finish which matches the Thompson, single piece matte bottom metal that I bought for it. It looks sharp and shoots sharp. It has earned it's way into my number one lineup with increased accuracy and functional improvement. It is a keeper now!

I need a shotgun, didn't need the rifle...have 2 and looking for another one for my younger son (Featherweight 270 or 7mm-08)...just didn't want the 30-06, the plastic stock sucked and I didn't want to invest in another stock.

I'm sorta getting into the clay shooting stuff...slowly...but I do enjoy it.

The 1100 came with 3 barrels and 5 choke tubes.

Another 20 gauge shotgun is climbing higher and higher on my list all the time.

I have an OLD J.C. Higgins 20 gauge (bolt action) with full choke that belonged to my Great Grandfather. He bought it out of Montgomery Wards catalog before my father was even born. I recently refinished the stock on that old gal and while she's no English Rigby, I want her to last so I seldom shoot her anymore.

But I would never trade my .30-06 for one. Luckily you traded off your "extra" .30-06 before you got too bewitched. :) That happens you know!
