I bought 200 Remington 7mm-08 brass to experiment with even though the Nosler Custom brass was really giving me more accuracy than Winchester brass and especially the Remington brass. I just could not seem to get the accuracy I was use to getting with the Nosler brass, so I decided to take once fired Rem brass and and not neck size, but full size them and trimming them to the minimum trim length, did the flash holes, trued the primer pockets, turned the necks and then used 210 Fed primers, W760 and Speer's 130gr SBT using an OAL of 2.780" like my Sierra match 130gr bullets.

This load gives me good velocity, excellent accuracy and the deviation will allow me to make good long shots and I don't have to worry about the 130gr speer opening up at distance and the velocities match my LR Duplex. Yes, I am very please with this load for deer, coyote, bobcat and hog.

Here is the data showing the efficiency and consistency of this load.

Here is my load for my 7mm-08 using Remington Brass

Mike,
Some swear at it, some swear by it. I have never had a problem with Remington brass.
Nice shooting.

What does that measure its a bit better than the group I shot with my 280 and it measured .141 with Rem brass.

Great shooting Mike.

I am really going to have to look at 760 for the 7x57 when I get home. Running some Quick Load numbers for the 140's and 160's it offers some very impressive speeds out of the Mauser. I use RP brass in the Whelen. It has worked fine for me. I don't go out of my way to buy it, but haven't had any particular trouble with it either when it is prepped well.

The only prob I've ever had with Rem brass is in my sav 99. It seems a bit softer than others so I have to trim it more frequently. With 300 sav though, you shoot what you can get. I think my next run will be reformed PRVI .308 brass. Easy conversion, requires a shortened shellholder. Don't let the bargain price fool you, that PRVI is great brass.

Not sure

I've had good success with Rem brass. The only brass I find lacking is Federal. Seems to stretch in the primer pockets much faster than others.

I like W760 in the 7x57. I get an honest 2800 FPS with the Nosler 140 gr. ballistic Tips from my Winchester M70 Featherweight with .75" average accuracy. With some of the very few 70 gr. Sierra round nose, I get .375" groups from that rifle. I did a bit of playing with the 175 gr. Hornady round nose and the Winchester gets 2310 FPS and my custom Mauser get 2410 FPS with the same load. The 140 gr. load is too hot in the Mauser. I've noticed that the Custom Mauser will do an average of 70 to 90 FPS faster than the Winchester or my Ruger #1A with factory ammo too. When I discussed this with my gunsmith, the one who built the rifle, he said he mase the chamber to minimum standards whis may be why that rifle get more velocity with less powder.
He also built a .308 for me and my current .308 handloads have prooved to be too hot in that rifle as well. It too is very accurate with the few loads I've run though it.
I do most, if not all my load work ups in Tucson's very hot summers. So far, any max loads I've worked up have proved to be perfectly safe during hunting season. If you try W760, I think you'll like it.

Paul, thank you for your insight buddy. Since you have 3 7X57's, I have to think it'll work just fine. I am really looking to shoot the 160 PT's out of the rifle for my son, should be wanna use it for elk. It won't be really long shots, under 300 for sure. Looking at most of the data, it looks like 2700 with the 160 PT and W760 is pretty feasible. I actually can't wait to try it some more. Had decent luck with RL19, but I think it is a touch too slow for it. W760 seems to come out at the top for speeds. Not sure how the accuracy will be, but I am thinking it should be good.

I still need to glass and pillar the rifle when I get time, along with getting the trigger lightened some, so I have a little work to do with it, but man, what a slick rifle. I almost wished it was mine, but I don't think I would be able to steal it back from him. Has a nice Minox 3x9 on it and it shoots pretty well if I shoot slow and easy..

Mike,
Great shooting buddy. Now if Nosler would just get more brass for us to buy, life would be good.
