Hello to the forum

Just wanna say a big thank you to all the professionals here on this forum. I've been lurking here for about 4 years and am so impressed with the lack of drama here. Such a respectful and knowledgeable place.

Dr Mike I grew up for 30 years in Beaver lodge hunting all over that country near you. I appreciate all the quickload calls you provide, and I am trying to dial in my new 7 rem mag in with some of your previous posts. 150 lrab and max QL of rel 22 is not shooting well nor is it getting the velocity. About 150fps slow. Oh well maybe on to H1000.

Anyway thank you all.

Dan

Welcome to the forum Dan. This is a great place to come and chat without too much drama like you said. Lots of great gals and guys here.

Have you tried different seating depths with the 150 gr ABLR? You may already know but often they like to be seated quite deep before they shoot. Some guns just don't like them for some reason but many do.

Welcome aboard, Dan. Always pleased to see new folk posting. Man, another Albertan posting! Don't know if the site can tolerate that. There are good people here and some very knowledgeable individuals.

I have used the 150 grain LRAB out of a .280 to tag a fine mule deer and a good 6X6 elk. The bullet has worked quite well. I haven't loaded it in my 7RM. I have such a good load with 175 grain PT and 175 grain Speer MagTip that I haven't worked with other weights yet. I still have a good stash of 175 grain TBBC for that rifle, as well. It has sure accounted for its share of moose and elk over the years. Gerry is right to suggest looking at your seating depths for the accuracy. To be sure, H1000 has worked very well for a number of loads I worked up with 160 grain bullets over the years in other people's rifles. I would think it should work well with the 150 grain LRAB. It would certainly give you good case fill.

Welcome Dan, I learn much from many of the folks here on the forum. They are very informed and willing to share. A side benefit is the well intended humor that creeps into the posts from time to time. :)

Good morning dan
Welcome to a great forum, and one of the most polite I have had the pleasure to visit.

Welcome Uncle Dan! I found R26 to be very good with the 160 and under bullets in my 7mm Rem Mag. R33 was outstanding with the 175. I used Fed 215M primers/Winchester cases. Great group of guys & Ladies here!

Welcome to the forum Dan, I am sure you are going to enjoy this great group of gals & guys . There is knowledge galore here and the gang is also a lot of fun .
I am in the process of loading 168gr. ABLRs in 2 7mm mags using RL22 & H1000 they are showing promise. I am sure you will get your rifle dialed in.

By chance are the bolts on your rifles on the left side?
PS. I like the way you spell your name (y).

Blessings,
Dan

Welcome Dan, I share your views on the nature of this forum and find it to be pretty refreshing after a few minutes of reading all the ball-busting and personal attacks so prevalent on other sites. We enjoy a lot of real world experience presented with a generous helping of humility also. This is one of the very best hunting, shooting, and reloading sites on the entire web!

Thank u all for the warm welcome and info. I loaded the 150 lrab in 2 7mm08 at around 2850 with rel17 and have used it for last couple years. I wanted a little more range so i bought a tikka at Christmas with a viper pst as eyes arent what thye use to be. The seating depth i started with is sammi 3.290. Dont have much more room in mag maybe 30 thou. But i measured and its a looongway to the lands3.48. Also the tips are getting flattened about .030 by recoil in mag? So the journey begins.
On a side note i shot some 168 bergers at around 2750 that gave me .710 4 shot group.

Welcome aboard. Lots of great first hand info coming from some amazing guys and gals here. Best forum around as far as I'm concerned.

Welcome Dan to the forum. Personally I think it's the best forum out there!!

Welcome to the forum, glad you are here.

If your Tikka is twisted fast enough give the 168 ABLR a try, I have killed a few elk with it out of my 280 Ackley and so far it has done well !

Welcome aboard. Best forum on the net here.

Don't be scared to jump the ABLRs nor boot them in the butt. They seem to respond to both pretty well.

Welcome to our loquacious slice of the Internet, Dan.
