I never imagined it could take so long to get all the pieces together to load some rounds. everything has been backordered or out of stock. the only thing I haven't been able to get is some IMR 4350. I'm looking forward to getting some rounds on paper to see how she shoots. =P

7mm Rem mag? I forgot which 7mm you're working with.

If it's the 7mm Rem mag, things are already looking good with a jug of RL-22 and some Noslers on hand!

yes sir. its a 7 rem mag. savage 111 with accutrigger and DBM topped with a monarch 2.5-10x50. all I have done so far is adjust the trigger and measure distance to the lands. there isn't much freebore in this rifle. max length for the magazine will touch the rifling. the only bullets I have on hand are 140gr CT and 120gr BT. I'll start with 140s.

Ditto.

I shoot my 7mm Rem Mag with the 160 gr Partition and IMR 7828 SSC powder with Fed 215 primers. You can still get IMR 7828 in several stores and online.

rain cut my range trip short. I was able to get started on break in and fire form a few cases. 66gr of RL 22 with 140gr CT was 3120fps with MOA accurancy and light recoil. the trigger is awesome. I was impressed with the accuracy from unfired cases with really no load work at all. working up to 67 gr only produced 3175fps with reduced accuracy. as the rounds got faster, they crawled up and right.

I will try 7828 and imr 4350 as soon as I can find some. ....very happy with the first test.

Don't give up on RL22 with the 140's, I think you'll find another node as you creep up, then adjust the seating depth, you might end up with a screamer of a load, that I doubt any deer will set outta it's tracks when it touches them!

Very nice set up though. Love the 7mm Rem Mag. Still one of the best out there.

Those are respectable velocities. As she sits now, you are set for deer and antelope.

You can still buy IMR 7828 SSC at some stores. I use it exclusively for my 7mm Rem Mag with 160 grain Partitions with very good accuracy and muzzle velocity. Use a magnum primer with 7828.

OT, can you post or PM your load data to me? what is your MV with 7828 and the 160? the data I see is around 2850. there is some imr-7828 in one of the local shops but its not SSC.

thanks for the QL data. I would love to see the 140gr CT @ 3200. I'm watching SPS for some heavier bullets.

thanks!

7828 and RL22 will be pretty similar in speeds produced, at least from what I have seen with the 7mm Rem Mag, 7mm WSM, and 270 WSM.

Mine likes 160 AB with Rl-22 at 2950 fps average. Easy and accurate. Another load is 168 VLD with 73 gr Retumbo at 3050 fps. It seams to like 160 AB almost any load of Rl-22.

IMR 4350 with the 160gr ABs has shown real good results with the rifles that I loaded for. If I remember right it right between 2900 & 3000fps.

Blessings,
Dan
