Lots of wind and rain today but couldn't stand it. Had to play a little.
Just received this and another from JES last week. (TD, think our rifles were there at the same time  )
Model 670A rebored to 338-06. 3.5-10X50 Vortex on top for now.
Two loads just to see what was what.
Both 51.5 RL15 loaded to recommended COAL for starters. Should be around 2600.
Rifle on the "shootin truck" (excuse the chains and crap in the back  )

Not at all unhappy with this. Plain jane loads to start and see whats what.
More development now. I think it's going to shoot.

No excuse for the chains, unless you're using the truck for work, which pretty much justifies anything. I'd say the rifle is definitely showing promise. It should give you a great load very quickly.

It might just have been there for sure.
It looks to me like some of those are Key Holing or entered the plates at an angle.

Very nice Dewey. Seems like you've got something to start with. That's pretty danger promising right outta the gate.

Nice, one of my .338-06 rifles loves RL15 and the 200 gr Hornady SP bullet, I get nearly 2900 fps out of it. I've only killed a pronghorn doe with that combo but it works very well.

No sir but good observation.
The doggone wind was blowing so hard the plates were lifting from time to time. probably not good shooting weather but I had a new toy and what can I say?

Can't blame you... I know I've been there.

Yeah Buddy, going out tomorrow and pop a few in the new 35 Imp and fire form some cases.
And the wind picking up the plates will make you think you have a problem when you don't.
And it is looking good I hope mine will shoot that well from the start.

Looks like she goes bang :) It looks like you will probably find a good load quickly, it will be neat to see what you come up with.

I had JES do my Savage 99 from 308 to 358 win. I’ve been very impressed with his work.

The 338-06 is a Diamondback 3.5 x10x50 for now. Have a couple Viper HSTs in boxes but 4 x16 seemed like more than I want right now.
So far it seems ok
It's the dead hold BDC

Thanks Dewey, I have the Diamond Back HP 3-12X42 with MOA plex on my M700 Classic 35 Whelen and really like it and might get another with the BDC reticule if I don't like the 2.5-8X36 Leupold I have on the 35 Imp M70.

Ha!
We seem to think alike TD.
The 2.5x8 was the scope I mounted on the 9.3 that broke.
Shipping it back to them today.
