Flyers - Which could it be? - New Results

Thanks for the help.
I have a box of 200gn SP Flatbase (Hornady) on it's way. I'll try those and the CT BT with the RL15 I have.

Results: Trial #3
I started with fresh 308WIN brass and squared the mouth after the resizing. Loaded 46gn RL-15 with the 200gn Flate Base (using a FB which was recommended from Antelope_Sniper in a previous reply) Hornady interlocks. Set length right to MAX 2.82 and used CCI 200 instead of WLRMs.

After a couple of shots to re-adjust the scope. 4shots into two holes .. the 5th was a flyer( 1" to the right) I pulled and shouted to my buddy before I even raised my head off the gun. The 4 shot group was about 3/4 inch (I didn't measure). I turned to our 350yd target and hit it all four times. Target is white rock (white quartz) the size of a paper plate across the draw on a dirt bank.
Changes to this load:
Squared mouth and then chamfer.
FB 200 gn bullet - diff ogive also.
RL-15
CCI Primer

I'm happy with this for this hunting season and next spring I'll see if I can tweak this load and measure results from a "real bench".

Looks like you found your load and have some great results, congratulations.

BTW, I believe Remington came out with the 300 RUM in 2000.

Teknys,

It certainly sounds as if you have a great hunting load and the ability to put the bullet where it must be.

Teknys:
Thanks for the update. I'm really glad to hear the new load worked out for you. With the interbonds you should be good for deer to elk!
