Do you find much difference in down-range drop/velocity between the .308 Nosler 180 gr. Partition-spitzer and the protected-point bullets? Maybe there isn't much at say, 300 yards, but how about 400,500, 600? The rifle being used is a 700 Rem., .300RUM, with a 3x9x40 Leupold scope, with muzzle velocities starting around 3250fps.

TIA,

"Why doesn't he just run a ballistic-program?"

DUUuhhh ......

OK !!!!!

At 300, both bullets are very close in drop, and at 400, 500, 600 ... well, they are only a couple of inches apart on the avg.The big difference between these 2 bullets comes when the energy drops-off at 500 yds., with the spitzer retaining over 2000 FP. and the blunter-nosed bullet comes-in at 1800FP.

It's h*ll bein' old
