That is a very attractive rifle. It would make a desirable addition to any collection.

Wow, that is really a find there.

I dont' think I have ever seen a Marlin with the 1/2 round barrel before. Very cool indeed.

Cool. I had a lot of fun with a pair of Marlin 1895's for about nine years. Good shooters!

I think one of these was for sale on one of the local (NW) boards a while back. Looked like a cool variant.

I have one about like that in 45/70 with 26 " barrel. 1/2 round barrel. Mine have the straight grip not the pistol grip. I will try to get a pic up in the next day. I think mine was a dealer special.

Here's my 45/70. It's a killer.

Another very nice looking 45-70. Just keep it up, fellows, and I'll eventually weaken.

Your resolve on the big bore lever rifles is pretty good Mike. I am pretty surprised you have held out for this long.

:( I'm jealous. That is one that I for sure would be a happy hunter after bambi with, or anything else that walks this planet.

About time Doc. How can you not own the Classic of Levers?

If I didn't have multiple Model 94s, I have no doubt I would have sprung for the Marlin. I do keep my eyes open for a Model 94 chambered in either 444 or 450 Marlin that is offered this side of the line. I might well jump on such a rifle. I've passed on the Model 86 only because I had my funds reserved for a couple of custom guns and a safe.

That M94 in 444 Marlin will be a thumper! I am pretty excited to try mine out...
