I like my guide gun so much I go through the added expense of shipping it back and forth to Alaska every summer, along with the 450 bushmaster. Mine is set up with xs sights, and fed a steady diet of 400 grain Barnes bullets. I like Chuck, I'm not sure he is correct on the recoil info.
Regardless it is fun to shoot, easy to load for and surprisingly effective. You're going to love it.

Leupold Standard base. It has the dovetail front ring and the 2 Screw rear mount. The mount that fits the Marlin 336 also fits the 1895.
