Well I finally bought what I always wanted.
Weatherby 270 WBY in the Ultralight version for those nasty/hard to get places.

Now
give me any load you've got  please.
Antelope deer elk will be the targets.

Velocity accuracy?

Thanx

sweet rifle, POP!
I just PM'ed you with my load data.
BTW I have exactly the same rifle, love mine.
Whatcha gonna scope her with?
I went with a Swarovski 4-12X50 w/Talley rings and bases....SWEET

PS does this mean your 30-378 is on the back burner?

Got it thanx!
She is getting Talley lightweight 1 piece rings and
Leupy 4.5-14-40mm with AO and Leupy installed target turrets. Figure she should be 7.8 lbs scoped.

Pop,

I have that exact setup minus the talley rings. My rings are Leupold dual dovetail.

I've hunted with that rilfe for the past five years and had fantastic success. It's my favorite. As a matter of fact, I bought a Gamemaster to go with it... it's basically the same rifle with the tan stock and black barrel.

My load is 73.5gr of IMR 7828 ssc. Chronograph says 3500 fps with .5moa accuracy all day long. Both of my .270wby's like FASTER rather than slower, and they prefer 140gr bullets. I have hunted mule deer and antelope with the BT and AB bullets. I shot a fat mule deer doe last month in Montana with my 270bee. She was at 400 yards and the exit was about the size of a quarter. Dropped dead in her tracks. That's the kind of result I have come to expect from my 270s

oops. My scope is the 4.5-14x50ao. I have the new 4.5-14x50 Boone and Crocket on the tan rifle :)

Madman,
what weight bullet is that 3500fps for?
I am thinking that would make one heck of an antelope load!!

It's a 140gr. And it drops the goats just fine :)

I am loading 71 grains of reloader 22 behind a 140 grain boattail. They are chronographing at 3200 fps.
My other load is 76 grains of IMR 7828 which chrony at 3400 fps.

Pop,

Nice looking rifle. Should be a sweet shooter for you.

I hope so Jim.
First I will try the 130 AB's then go from there.
