Saw one of these the other day and it really has pq'd my interests. Looks like a mint semi authentic big hunk of lead slinging unit. Price is right too.
Looks kinda like a fiscally responsible way to play "Quigley Down Under".. I think I am gonna put one of these on my mental wish list. Load er up with black powder and big cast boolets, give it about 30* elevation and let er rip..
Wonder if a guy could retrofit it with vernier sights in the rear? Hmmmmmm..
Are there many buffalo wandering in the Dakota Territories today? This could be just the way to go for the big, shaggy beasts. Gotta' be more fun than popping kangaroos.
I have one. With midrange loads it really hurts to shoot it without a PAST shoulder pad. It will leave you black and blue after just a few rounds. The shock is narrow and thet steel butt plate is hard on the shoulder. I a thinking of getting another stock and have it cut and a real recoil pad installed. I am use to recoiling rifles but without the PAST pad it damages you. Fun gun to shoot with a pad though. My load is a Rem 405JSP bullet and 50grs of BL-(C)2. Quite accurate when I do my part. Have not done any load development and used that powder as I has 8lbs of it and was not using it in any other load.
