RL22 is an excellent powder for the 7mm Rem. Mag. 3/4" groups were common. I live in Central Oregon and often the temperature during hunting season is below freezing and stays in that area for several months. I stick with the extreme powders to reduce the temperature effect.
On 10/21/06 at 30 degrees I tested H1000 loads in two different Browning bolt action rifles. The best group in my rifle was .156" for three shots at 100 yards. I did not have a chronograph at the time. The load was 72.5 grains H1000, once fired R-P brass, Fed. 215 magnum primers, and the 160 grain Nosler AccuBond. Later that week both my son and I had one shot kills on 6X6 bull elk.
On 3/4/07 I had the opportunity to chronograph the load. The three shot group at 37 degrees was well under 1/2" at 100 yards. The speeds were:
#1 3084 FPS
#2 3074 FPS
#3 3072 FPS
Flat, fast aned no pressure signs. Please use caution, but don't overlook H1000. Try H4831SC also. It was second in my range sessions followed by RL22.
