H1000 for 7mm rem mag or reloader 25

My model 70 pushfeed, shines with H1000 and the 160 AccuBond. I got good results with the same powder and Hornady's 175 SP. If I do my part, 5 shot groups that are easily covered with a dime at 100 yards and groups right around 3" at 320 yards.

I have killed elk with this load at 386 yards, 433 yards and 200 yards. H1000 is my GO TO powder with my 7mmRM.

My load is from an older Hogdon manual and is now over the books. That said, I have seen zero pressure problems in my rifle. I have not shot over a chrony, but based on trajectory etc, I suspect I am between 2960 and 3000 fps.

I never could get RE22 to load well in my rifle. IMR 4831 and H4831 both shoot really well. I have started playing a little with IMR 7828 but nothing matches the accuracy of H1000 in my rifle. That said, Retumbo peaks my interest as does RE25.

Have fun and definitely consider H1000

I load H-1000 with a 160 AccuBond at 3030 fps and get one hole three shot groups at 100 yds. I use nickel plated Remington cases and CCI magnum rifle primer. According to the book, the load is a tad hot but it doesn't show any pressure sign and the velocity is within the scale of what to expect from that powder and bullet combo. My rifle is a
win 70 classic with 26" barrel. And H-1000 isn't near as temperatue sensitive at Relocder 22. I usually work up loads in the summer when it is very hot and have found that my loads lose around 200 fps going from 90 degress to 60 degrees with Reloder 22. Not so with H-1000.

Another vote for H870. I started using it back when I started reloading and it was awesome in my 7mm Rem Mag. The first real big game load I used was an original Barnes X (160gr) over 79gr of 870. Shot within an inch and killed alot of animals for me. I was lucky to find a going out of business gun shop and bought 5 lbs of the stuff, so I will hoard that for my 7mm and figure something else out when/if I run out. Scotty
